Terms and Conditions

Amick’s Guns LLC strives to provide the best service to our customers at a reasonable cost.  Established in 1996 by Jimmy Amick, our mission remains unchanged.

Scope of Service

Amick’s Guns LLC provides general and custom gunsmithing and refinishing for a variety of firearms and platforms.

Troubleshooting Problems Associated With Handloads

Our shop is not licensed to commercially reload ammunition, and we do not provide reloading services.  A serviced firearm is considered fully functional when it operates as intended with factory loaded ammunition.  Amick’s Guns LLc is not liable for firearms malfunctions related to ammunition loaded by hand or ammo that is modified from factory conditions.

Firearms Previously Serviced by Another Gunsmith

For the safety of our staff, the owner must disclose any work performed by another gunsmith shop prior to leaving your firearm with us.  If the gunsmith at any point during the completion of the work order, determines the firearm to be unsafe or unserviceable, we reserve the right to abort the work order, reassemble the firearm in its present condition, charge a reasonable fee for services provided thus far, and we will require you to sign an “Unsafe to Fire” acknowledgement.

Excessive Wear and Tear

If your firearm is deemed by the gunsmith to be unsafe or unserviceable due to abuse, neglect, normal wear and tear, or improper usage, the firearm will be returned to you in its present condition, you will be billed a reasonable fee for the work performed thus fire and be required to sign an “Unsafe to Fire” acknowledgement.

Work Orders

A work order constitutes an expression of a customer’s desired work to be performed and does not represent a contractual obligation between the two parties.  If the gunsmith feels it is in the customers interest, he may modify the details of the work order without the customer’s consent.  If the gunsmith finds a problem with the firearm outside the scope of the work order which he feels is critical to the safety or function of the firearm, we reserve the right to perform the necessary repairs without the customer’s consent.

Price Estimates

Rough pricing estimates are available upon request.  By approving a work order, you approve spending up to 120% of the estimate.  In the event that the estimate provided encounters an issue you will be contacted to discuss the new fee schedule.  Estimates are just that…estimates.

Changes

In the event that you wish to change the details of the work order after the initial acceptance, any requested changes must be submitted in writing (by mail or email) and must receive a written acknowledgement by our shop.  Change requests not acknowledged and approved in writing are not binding, and you will be financially liable for services performed as requested at the time of initial work order approval unless change request is on file.

Minimum Shop Charge

The minimum shop charge per work order is $65.00 at the time of this writing.  The minimum charge assumes the customer pays by cash or check and does not include the cost of parts, ammo, materials, misc fees, and/or sales tax.  When servicing more than one firearm, the charge will apply to each firearm separately

Cash Discount

All prices quoted have a cash discount applied.  Any transactions with credit or debit cards will be assessed a 4% convenience fee.

Deposits

All projects require a 50% deposit at the time of drop off with a minimum of $65 deposit made..  All projects requiring a repair with an unknown repair cost will incur a $65 diagnostic fee that is applied to the cost of the repair.  All deposits are non refundable.

Estimated Lead Times

Estimated lead times for services vary throughout the year based on our workload and are available upon request.  Estimated completion dates are not binding nor guaranteed and do not constitute an appointment date to pick up for your firearm.  In some cases, an estimated completion date for a work order may fall on a holiday or a day on which our shop is not open.  Please be advised that Amick’s Guns LLC cannot guarantee our ability to provide an appointment time on the day on which your work order is estimated to be completed.
